Did a quick Caribbean sweep and now what I am looking at may have some new meaning…

Gitmo

Saw this the other night when I did a BF sweep (and kicking myself in the balls for not reporting it).

Gitmo is usually very quiet on the scope, you don't see anything. Last time we saw any interesting shit was a month or so ago, when the USNS WATKINS heading out, and the Navy started decoying us with AIS so she was harder to track. Backed off, because they're the good guys so WTF, right?

Well…here is a track we have on 3 targets in Guantanamo Bay. One cargo ship that has apparently docked in Cuban territory, so that may be nothing…except that she has to transit US-held waters to get there. Two unidentified auxiliaries (the most you ever see in Gitmo is one, and that's if they're being kind with AIS).

Not saying this means fuck-all, but it's interesting. There has been some traffic around Gitmo Bay, too, so it's just possible that someone has made a transfer.

Planefags, have any potential rendition flights been through South Florida or the Carib close to Gitmo recently?

That might tell us a little moar whether this is a possibility.

5:5…I'm thinking past 4 to 5 days, ships move slower than a/c. Possible transfer location outside CONUS is what I'm wondering. If I can get an ID on that cargo ship in Cuban waters, I may be able to track its last week's travel and see if it came in from a position that ties to a rendition flight. No promises, the Cubans hardly cooperate - but just in case…
