Out picking blueberries in the front yard today. Looks like there will be enough this year to try to make wine. Yeah, my preps are far enough along to branch out a little. Shelves are pretty full. Storage shed and garage, too.
Looks to be 5-6 gallons of berries this year. Would be more, but the cats are getting lazy as they get older and the birds are just as bold as before.
If this works, I may turn my hand to dandelion wine next year. Had some when I was younger and it was (kick your ass) superb. ;-)
Now that I'm old enough to drink legally, I might try my hand at making some, myself.
So, frens … I hope that you haven't lost sight that Q told us to prep. I'm guessing that he means to some level beyond "2 Slim Jims and 1,000 rounds of ammo." Got water filters for when the bottled water runs out? Have you walked around the neighborhood with an eye to reconnoitering lines of sight and probable lines of attack? Got rat traps for squirrel? (Everything bigger will disappear overnight.) How far can you walk with a loaded pack? Can you make a small fire to cook with in the rain? Can you handle ditch medicine? (Do you even know what it is?). If you are a woman, can you handle "that time of the month"? For how long?
Friends, with all the shit posting and other excitement, I hope you haven't forgotten that when SHTF, if not part of a trustworthy IRL group (I am not), you're on your own.
Prep as if your very life depended on it – because it does.
