Are you suggesting localized DIC as mechanism for rapidly progressing ARDS in COVID pneumonia?
Treatment dosing with heparin or derivatives is standard for a sick patient with COVID. Start the drip when D-dimer goes above 5. DIC is secondary. The primary problem is CRS precipitation of DIC along with many other derangements.
Heparin is not an “answer” but does treat all-cause coagulopathy.
