The problem with the filter is that it relies entirely on free will, and not every Anon's discernment skill or ability to tolerate different opinions is on the same level. Some like myself only usually filter obvious spammers, but many here filter literally anything they don't like. Some people are real babies when it comes to filtering any and all bad fee-fees, and do themselves a disservice. But in the end, it's all about free will. We can choose to develop thick skin or we can choose to put our fingers in our ears and go "LALALALALALA" like a typical leftist.
