As a DumbCivilianAnon I can only speculate. However we are clearly on the precipice of a seriously dangerous period in history. Covid is just a wake up call to how unprepared and vulnerable we are.
Rich and wealthy people with access to cutting edge technology have outsized access to realize innovative ideas that can literally transform the world possibly in a dystopian way. Imagine, if you will, a billionaire devising untraceable nanotechnology that can enter the body and attach to the human neural net, and remotely influence and control the host. Imagine if that tech were to become self replicable.
There was a ST:TNG episode about this which wasn’t quite as dystopian.
Odds that evil billionaires or China would be okay with enslaving the human race with such technology? Top priority, imo: keep all wealthy people and nations in check, to save humanity.
For all we know, we are already infiltrated by this tech..
