Had to put down a "walk-on" kitty who had been with us for a year and had finally gotten to the rubbing stage. He had a large, raw, growth in one ear and when I took him in to have it removed, the vet told me he had FIV. FIV is, apparently not only a death sentence, but a harsh one. His ashes are in a box on a shelf. Once they open their personalities to you, it's just about impossible not to love them.
In 32 days we lost three cats, all from different causes, two of whom had been born inside our box mattress. Mom and two kittens are left but nothing can fill the void.
