The 2013 film Redemption, starring Jasan Statham as an ex-Special Forces veteran who went AWOL from his unit in Afghanistan, becomes a homeless drunk in London, and attempts to find redemption by avenging the death of someone dear to him. He claws his way back to financial freedom by working for a criminal Chinese gang. Among the jobs he is tasked with is counting the trafficked children still alive in a cargo container. Given what has been suggested with Wayfair selling trafficked children over the internet, the scene is horrific. What is even more disturbing is the fact that a film would include such a scene, the character doesn't blink an eye, and nothing is ever done to free those children. The entire movie is like that, with nothing ever shining a light on good or decent. Even one of the "good" characters, a nun, is corrupted. A truly vile Hollywood film. A celebration of the opposite of redemption. If you want a strong dose of reality, to sharpen your nerves, watch this film.
