It is now July.In July and August, 1771, the author of Poor Richard's Almanack was in England, and he wrote part one of his autobiography, addressed as a letter to his son William.

Earlier that same year the American Revolution began when the King's forces engaged the Regulators at the Battle of Alamance Creek in North Caroline. It was May 16, 1771.

Many of the Regulators were survivors of the Battle of Culloden Moor where the King's forces also won. However, the ember of Revolution did not die out, it only grew throughout the colonies, because the actions of a governor in one province, could easily be repeated in others unless they were checked.

While the learned men of letters had a role to play in the Revolution, it was the Anons, farmers, merchants and tradesmen who were the backbone of the movement. However, historians tend to ignore the Anons because they too, are men of letters and prefer to exalt their own.

The reality is that today, men of letters are fanning the flames of revolution, however the war will not be fought and won, until the Silent Majority stands up, speaks up, and takes action. This time around it won't be necessary to take up arms, but people need to put their bodies on the line, in rallies and gatherings and protests and demonstrations. Call out the corrupt and the criminals. Shine a laser light on the lies of the liars. Unveil their secrets and reveal their evil intentions.
