When I saw this, I wondered if perhaps the spirit of Washington had been roused by the great peril at hand.
Washington was famous for his character and compassion towards his men under the worst of circumstances. He suffered alongside them, he listened, and he kept them going even when he himself was weak. People followed him even when their feet were bloody and run ragged in the snow because he inspired hope and resolve through the winter and the darkness.
He was famous as a general for that, and not for his steel or his fierceness. We ultimately won in a war where we were so badly battered because we had leadership like his.
The spirit of Washington thunders, Anons. And he is enraged.
