Agree. Eyes Wide Shut is also amazing. I have a list of Kubrick's films so I can watch them all. I watched his very first feature film not long ago, an existential fictional war film. Bizarre, very mid-century.

Fear and Desire is a 1953 American anti-war film directed, produced, and edited by Stanley Kubrick, and written by Howard Sackler.[3] With a production team of only fifteen people, the film was Kubrick's feature directorial debut. Though the film is not about any specific war, it was produced and released during the height of the Korean War.

Yeah, Barry Lyndon with Ryan O'Neal, no less than the worst actor ever. Stanley must have been drunk the whole year. Think if it was Nicholson, Hackman, or somebody of that caliber, might have saved it.
