We need to get rid of this crazy communist. She seems to be using the virus as an excuse to prevent citizens from getting out there and getting petitions signed.

Governor Kate Brown Announces New Requirements for Face Coverings, Limits on Social Get-Togethers to Slow the Spread of COVID-19

July 13, 2020

Effective July 15, face coverings to be required outdoors, social get-togethers indoors over 10 prohibited

Portland, OR—In response to the alarming rise in COVID-19 case counts across Oregon over the last several weeks, Governor Kate Brown today announced new requirements for face coverings and limits on social get-togethers. Effective Wednesday, July 15, Oregon’s face covering requirement will be expanded to apply to outdoor public spaces when six feet of distance cannot be maintained. In addition, indoor social get-togethers of more than 10 people will be prohibited.

The gathering limit applies only to indoor social get-togethers. This new rule does not change the operation of businesses or churches at this time.

Governor Brown noted that failure to comply with the new requirements would lead to more outbreaks of COVID-19 and more restrictive closures with greater impact on Oregon’s economies, communities, health care systems, and families.

“We need to do absolutely everything we can to reduce transmission in ways that do not require us to close down businesses again," said Governor Brown. “The proof here will be in the numbers. Either people will adhere to this requirement and be a positive force for stopping COVID-19, or I will be forced to take more restrictive measures.”

“It all depends on you. Your choices determine our future."

Governor Brown shared the following facts about COVID-19 in Oregon:

• Oregon reported more cases in the past week than in the entire month of May.

• The last time Oregon had less than 100 cases in a single day was more than a month ago.

• Half of all cases in Oregon are from people under the age of 40 and one third of all cases are from people under the age of 30.

• Currently, people in their 20s and 30s are the most likely group to get sick with COVID-19.

• Two Oregonians in their 30s have died from COVID-19.

A recording of the Governor’s press conference from Monday, July 13, is available here.

A full transcript of the Governor’s remarks from Monday, July 13, is available here.

Updated face covering and indoor social get-together guidance will be posted to coronavirus.oregon.gov.

Doesn't this prohibit the constitutional right to freedom of assembly?

Gov. Kate Brown Picks Up an Unprecedented Donation From Financier George Soros

Published April 2, 2018 Updated April 2, 2018–

The contribution marks the first time the New York-based fund manager and philanthropist has donated directly to an Oregon politician.

George Soros, one of the world's best-known investors, has invested in the re-election campaign of Gov. Kate Brown.

Soros, 87, made a fortune of nearly $25 billion with well-timed bets on currencies, commodities and stocks before giving most of his money away last year.

He's long been active in political and social issues around the world through his Open Societies Foundation. In this country, he's been a major funder of Democratic candidates and causes.

His $25,000 contribution to Brown, first reported by the Eugene Register-Guard, appears to be Soros' first direct involvement in an Oregon race since the state began keeping electronic contribution records in 2006.

Brown, a Democrat, has now raised $989,000 in 2018 and has $3.48 million on hand. Her likely opponent in the November general election, state Rep. Knute Buehler (R-Bend), has raised $750,000 this year and has $1.96 million on hand.

Oregon Gov Kate Brown Funneled $10 Million to Planned Parenthood After It Lined Her Pockets

Micaiah Bilger Nov 14, 2018 | 7:45PM Salem, OR

In a scheme described as “legalized money-laundering,” the abortion giant Planned Parenthood has both given and received money from Oregon Gov. Kate Brown.

Brown, who was re-elected on Nov. 6, has a 100-percent pro-abortion record. In 2017, she signed a bill expanding taxpayer-funded abortions to illegal immigrants and government employees in Oregon, already one of the most pro-abortion states in America.

Now, her campaign donations from Planned Parenthood and other groups are being questioned.

Weekly Blizt reports more than 550 state vendors who receive tax dollars from the government donated to Brown’s re-election campaign.

“Right now, in Oregon, a large pot of taxpayer money is recycled from state vendors and contractors back into campaign coffers. The system functions as a legalized money-laundering scheme. At arm’s length, all of the transactions are legal – but are they ethical or serving the public’s interest?” Adam Andrzejewski wrote for Forbes.

The abortion giant Planned Parenthood, which gave an award to Brown in 2012, donated $42,075 to her campaign, according to the report. Since 2012, Planned Parenthood has received $10.1 million in state tax dollars for abortions and other services, the report states. Brown became governor in 2015, so she was not in charge when that full amount was spent, but she was for a majority of it. She has been a close friend of the abortion industry by supporting and even expanding its taxpayer funding in office.

Here’s more from the report:

Oregon’s liberal governor has reportedly received $2.6 million in campaign cash from over 500 vendors who reaped $4.4 billion in state payments.

“Every single instance where the 557 state vendors made a political donation and had their contract initiated, renewed, modified, or extended is a potential conflict of interest,” Adam Andrzejewski wrote for Forbes.

Follow LifeNews.com on Instagram for pro-life pictures and the latest pro-life news.

Disclosures last month showed that the $2.6 million represented the equivalent of 100 percent of Gov. Kate Brown’s cash on hand in her campaign committee.

“While national progressives decry corporate money as a pernicious influencer in politics, state records show that Governor Brown, a liberal luminary, has embraced the highly unethical practice of soliciting campaign cash from state contractors,” Andrzejewski wrote.

Other groups that both gave money to Brown’s campaign and received money from Brown’s government include Nike Inc. ($134,365); Bloomberg LP ($250,000); AT&T ($10,000); PacificSource Health ($6,224); CH2M Hill ($4,700); Alaska Air ($3,500); Hewlett Packard ($2,000); Pitney Bowes ($2,000); and Microsoft ($11,250), according to the report.

Brown has a 100 percent pro-abortion rating from Planned Parenthood PAC of Oregon. She also once received its “Champion Award” for her abortion advocacy. This fall, just ahead of the election, she joined the radical pro-abortion group NARAL for a rally, smiling and holding a sign that read, “Pro-Freedom, Pro-Justice, Pro-Choice.”

Michael Bloomberg donates $250K to Kate Brown campaign

Updated Jan 09, 2019; Posted Sep 13, 2016

Kate Brown, Michael Bloomberg

Michael Bloomberg's $250,000 donation to the campaign on Oregon Gov. Kate Brown marks the largest single contribution she has received in recent years. The donation comes after Brown, a Democrat, publicly announced support for three pieces of gun control legislation, including a ban of high-capacity ammunition magazines, which the Legislature will consider in 2017. Bloomberg has a history of donating to candidates who support gun control.

EUGENE – Oregon Gov. Kate Brown has received a $250,000 campaign contribution from New York billionaire Michael Bloomberg.

The Register-Guard reports that Bloomberg's donation marks the largest single contribution she has received in recent years.

The donation comes after Brown, a Democrat, publicly announced support for three pieces of gun control legislation, including a ban of high-capacity ammunition magazines, which the Legislature will consider in 2017. Bloomberg has a history of donating to candidates who support gun control.

At her mid-summer news conference in Portland, Brown said she hopes to get the state legislature to take steps to curb gun violence.

"Since I was sworn in as governor 17 months ago, more than 600 Oregonians have died from violence inflicted by a gun," Brown said. "Violence answers nothing, offers nothing, solves nothing. … I call on each of us, as Oregonians and as Americans, to join this call to end gun violence now."

Earlier this year, Bloomberg made a $250,000 contribution to state Rep. Val Hoyle, a Eugene Democrat, in her unsuccessful run for secretary of state. At the time, a Bloomberg spokesman said the donation was the result of Hoyle's "leadership" in helping to pass a 2015 expansion on gun sale background checks in Oregon.

Brown hopes to win what would have been the final two years of former Gov. John Kitzhaber's term. Kitzhaber resigned in February 2015 amid an influence-peddling scandal that remains under investigation.

Bloomberg's contribution brings her total fundraising for the election cycle to $3.7 million.

Brown's Republican opponent, William "Bud" Pierce, has raised $2.6 million this election cycle.

The Redacted Transparency Promise of Oregon Governor Kate Brown

May 17, 2018

At first, we questioned why Oregon Governor Kate Brown spent taxpayer money on pricey yoga classes, brewery trips, movie tickets, hundreds of expensive car washes, a Canadian kayak trip, and expenses on her luxurious vacation to Palm Springs, California… But then it got worse.

During her first two terms, our audit revealed Governor Kate Brown redacted nearly 4,000 items from her official state calendar. The governor redacted calendar entries on nine out of every ten days since taking office. In addition to these transparency issues, we found potential violations of Oregon state law regarding Brown’s credit card spending.

The governor is flouting Oregon open records laws and blurring the line between the taxpayer-funded agency resources and her campaign activities. Furthermore, Brown used public funds for private purposes – during her time as secretary of state and as governor.

Oregon taxpayers should demand answers.

Our previous oversight of Governor Brown exposed troubling patterns. For example, last year, our auditors found the governor solicited $518,203 in campaign donations from hundreds of state vendors. Those state vendors reaped millions of dollars in state contracts.

Earlier this year, we found Brown’s office designated 52 employees as lobbyists, but disclosed zero dollars in lobbying expenditures on the official Oregon Ethics Commission website – during a 21-month period. Our oversight forced Brown to amend her filings, disclosing $165,489 in payments to her lobbyists.

Now we’ve discovered systemic redactions from Brown’s calendar. Through Brown’s first 1,156 days as governor (February 2015 through April 2018), 994 days on her official calendar included redacted information. There are up to 14 line-item redactions per day.

Oregon State Law (ORS 192.355 Section 2a) allows redactions for information of a “personal nature” (i.e. doctor’s appointments). But in Brown’s calendar, there were nearly 4,000 items redacted, including names of people Brown met with, travel locations, campaign events, and even entire calendar days.

Brown’s calendar was packed with 500 events tagged as “campaign,” with further details redacted. When we asked the governor for comment, spokesperson Chris Pair cited a circuit court case – not a completely settled law – arguing the public has no right to know:

“Campaign information is not a matter of ‘public record’ under the Oregon Public Records Law. See Oracle America, Inc. v. Brown, No. 15CV30762 at *12 (Marion Cnty. Cir. Ct. Aug. 24, 2016)”

However, the governor didn’t explain why a taxpayer-funded calendar platform is used to book, schedule, and keep track of 500 campaign events. According to the governor’s own internal 'political activities' policy, “employees are expressly prohibited from using any work time or any state resources to conduct political activities.”

Therefore, if state employees on state time are entering campaign events, meetings, and activities on the governor’s taxpayer-funded calendar, then it certainly looks like a violation of the iron wall between state agency resources and campaign activities.

Consider just a few examples of Brown hiding campaign events, trips, and other activities on her taxpayer-funded calendar:

July 6, 2016: This day started out with a redacted campaign event at 7:00 am. During the late morning, Brown’s calendar shows a roundtable discussion and tour in Lake Oswego, Oregon, and various phone calls. The rest of the day, however, is entirely hidden – six separate campaign events and meetings were blacked out along with their locations.

May 3, 2017: On this trip to Washington, D.C., Brown redacted information about four campaign events in the morning and another event in the evening. Additionally, two non-campaign meetings and a conference call on this day were redacted from the entry. Overall, just two hours of Brown’s D.C. schedule was disclosed.

August 17, 2017: The only events on this day not blacked out were a media interview at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort and a lunch break. Brown redacted seven different campaign events, including their locations, and one conference call.

October 23, 2017: Traveling in San Francisco, Brown’s only disclosed events were marked as “travel time.” Brown spent nearly the entire day campaigning – redacting details on six separate events – and redacted information about two non-campaign events starting at 8:00 pm.

February 23, 2018: On another trip to Washington, D.C., Brown spent her entire day campaigning. After a 4:00 am MSNBC interview – the only non-redacted event on the calendar – Brown’s day consisted of eleven blacked-out campaign events, lasting from 5:00 am until 10:00 pm..

Michael Bloomberg Donates $250,000 To Gun Control Supporting Governor

September 14, 2016

The campaign of Oregon Governor Kate Brown accepted a donation of $250,000 from anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg in support of her run for governor this year.

Bloomberg’s donation, which is Brown’s largest single contribution ever, follows her announcement back in July that she plans to pursue a series of gun control legislation to combat gun violence in the state. She urged Congress to ban all assault weapons and enact no fly/no buy gun legislation.

Brown has been an avid gun control supporter, considering she signed a bill last year that would expand background checks on gun transfers.

Over the past several years, Bloomberg has donated $2.6 million to Oregon political campaigns.

The $250,000 donation equals that of his gun control advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety’s donation to John Kitzhaber’s campaign in 2014 as well as House Majority Leader Val Hoyle’s campaign.
