if time travel is possible (IMHO highly doubtful), wouldn't the past be more accessible? i mean, it already exists, whereas the future hasn't "happened" yet. and for sure, if TT were possible, the first thing humans would do with the tech is to fight wars. wouldn't the way to do that be by going back in time to eliminate enemies before they can gain power/position to be a threat? so maybe your idea is reversed. PLG isn't looking into the future to select the best course of action today, rather, humans from the future are coming back to alter their past and avoid the mistakes that led to disaster, a la 12 monkeys, etc. just pointless wild speculative shitposting.
