If a space rock gets too close to our planet, there will be an electrical reaction.

The bigger the object does not mean the bigger the collision. There is no "collision".

The larger the object, the greater the surface area. The greater the surface are, the moar charge, Q, that can accumulate surrounding the surface area. Which translates to amperage.

With the amount of amperage available between two larger surface areas of planetary sizes, it doesn't take much of a voltage differential to generate a rather large amount of power (Amp x volts = watts).

So, why wouldn't all that power get converted into kinetic impact?

Conservation of Energy, is one way to put it.

It has to do with the way the Electromagnetic Force works.

Which in reality, couldn't really happen any other way, otherwise nothing would likely exist, as all the charge variations would instantly cancel one another out, ending everything in existence all at once before it ever existed.

See. There's something called the "Right Hand Rule". An observation which can be made which implies the unity of Electricity and Magnetism acting as One Force. If an electric current runs in one direction, there will be a magnetic field generated perpendicular to the electric current. Next, there is something referred to as the "Lorentz Force", which is a Force of motion perpendicular to the perpendiculars of the magnetic filed "lines" and electric currents. This generates the "three dimensions" of space.

So, what does that all mean in relation to planetary mechanics? It means that given a large enough object, which results in tremendous amounts of potential Energy, instead of a kinetic impact, the object would get instantly "captured" via the Electromagnetic "phenomena" of how things work to ensure we all don't explode from space rocks. Pretty sure this is how we got our moon. No joke. We likely stole it from Uranus
