The whole Sessions thing is about the upcoming Military Tribunals that are going to take place.
The only reason I think he's running right now is just a show. Trump has opportunity to continue bashing him, showing they're enemies. Sessions is posed to lose, thereby leaving him open to take on a judgeship type position when the trials begin. Not a Trump ally now, so he will be looked at as more impartial.
He's still POTUS, last time I checked, which means he can STILL declassify anything he wants. The timing must be perfect though. So he still has not missed the opportunity to do it. If he still hasn't done it after his second term is over, THEN you can complain. Meantime, these memes are nonesense!!
