I recognize comms, I just don't understand the purpose of this move. Why have Sessions run at all?
He didn't have to run for office to create distance. The narrative was already established that Trump fired him.
Ok, but why even have him run to begin with? Why was it necessary for him to run and lose rather than wait quietly until his time? Trump had already "fired" him, so it wasn't necessary to create a narrative that they were in opposition to each other.
