the backwards double 18 year moon cycle (perhaps) spiral doesn't show up in anything neffarious. It's rather specific with a very set number of loops around.
the volutes, as well, are usually just archectural flurish. What about stuff like the Phaestos Disc which is of clay? How was it dated?
and the paint work in the ancient complex? How was that all dated?
