Wikipedia says she's a naturalized US citizen, but that's Wikpedia. She's a French citizen by birth (mother's side), and a UK citizen, somehow. Father was Czech by birth, but may be UK naturalized, not sure.

Adding this because if she wasn't a US citizen by birth, she'd need a green card somewhere along the way, and perhaps that was the reason for the marriage.

>Naturalized then widowed then? Another marriage?

The major question I have is how did she get a green card? You have to have official residency in the US before you can be naturalized. 5 continuous years, unless you are a qualified spouse, then it would be 3 years. You need a green card for that period, I believe.

I guess she could use work as a green card qualification, but if she wanted to hide that, she could use an arranged marriage. One that customs wouldn't be able to sniff out.

If she were in the US illegally during the time in question (1994-1997), then may be it would have legal implications for the upcoming trial, e.g., would she have the same constitutional rights?

Don't know, just wondering.
