FDA expands its list of potentially toxic hand sanitizers to nearly 60 products that can cause blood poisoning, blindness and death

The FDA warned against using 59 hand sanitizers made by 13 companies

It is an expansion of a warning last month against nine hand sanitizers made by Mexico-based company Eskbiochem SA de CV

Health officials say the products contain methanol, a type of alcohol that can be toxic if it is absorbed through the skin or ingested

Warnings follow a 79% spike in calls to US poison control centers for hand sanitizer ingestion after the FDA relaxed regulations on hand sanitizers

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning Americans to stop using certain hand sanitizers because they may be toxic.

Regulators expanded their list of potentially dangerous hand sanitizers to 59, manufactured by 13 companies.

Last month, the FDA cautioned that nine products manufactured by Mexico-based Eskbiochem SA de CV and contain varying amounts of methanol. It now warns against hand sanitizers made companies including AAA Cosmetica, 4E Global, and DDI Multinacional.

Methanol is a type of alcohol that can be poisonous if it is absorbed through the skin or ingested.

The FDA says that exposure to methanol-based hand sanitizer can cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, permanent blindness, seizures, coma, permanent damage to the nervous system or even death.

Captured Syrian militants tell media they are US-trained, sent to spy on Russian, Iranian & Syrian facilities

Three gunmen caught by the Syrian Army have told Russian media they were part of a US-backed militant group and had been sent on a spying mission in the Raqqa governorate.

The detainees were shown to journalists near the city of Palmyra, where they were delivered by the Syrian army. The three men claimed they belonged to the Revolutionary Commando Army, a militia group based around the US base in Al-Tanf in southeastern Syria.

According to the detainees, they left Al-Tanf on motorcycles and rode north for a reconnaissance mission in the Mansoura subdistrict of the Raqqa governorate. Upon reaching their destination they were supposed to look for Syrian, Russian and Iranian facilities.

They avoided major roads to dodge Syrian checkpoints and patrols. But their guide, a smuggler by trade, made an error and led them into a minefield, where he, the group leader and a fighter died. Three of the five survivors were soon captured by Syrian troops, the detainees said.

The Syrian military presented Kalashnikov assault rifles, hand grenades, IDs, money and stimulating drugs, which they said the group possessed at the moment of capture. as well as the wreckage of two motorcycles presumably recovered from the minefield.

Local Governments Want YOU To Pay For The Economic Terrorism They Caused

Local governments want massive tax hikes to cover the costs of the economic terrorism they extracted on the entire population. Cities like Nashville, Tennessee plan to hike property taxes as much as 34% to cover the costs of their terrorism.

Have you had enough yet? Because too many are still taking this on the chin. Historic job losses caused by government-mandated lockdowns that have fueled the downturn have also put the squeeze on city and state budgets. Washington sought to offset this with stimulus payments, additional unemployment benefits, business grants, and more, but now they want their money back in the form of massive tax hikes.

Any push to raise taxes too dramatically could hurt the economy even more, not to mention cause civil unrest. People are already living on the edge, and those lucky enough to still have jobs are living paycheck to paycheck. But, if the government can get away with it from a passive and sleeping public, they’ll do it.

Planned “Second Wave” is Coming: The Terrorism Committed By Government Isn’t Over Yet

There is no better description of what’s happening to Americans than terrorism. The fact that we are being terrorized by our own government in far more disastrous ways than Islamists could have possibly imagined should horrify everyone in this country. Places thought to be “safe havens” from liberal lunacy have become epicenters for theft and forcing the public to pay for their own enslavement.

Liberal elite? Left-wing establishment? People in power are ALWAYS conservative, gaslighting the world to keep the status quo

The world is being gaslighted by people in power. They want us to think that there’s a dangerous radical threat but the truth is that elites of all persuasions are conservative. That’s how they stay in power.

Take a swim in the murky waters of current affairs and you’d think that the world is a couple of protest marches from becoming a Marxist utopia/hell (delete according to personal preference). People talk about a ‘liberal elite’, the most establishment of establishment people are boarding the anti-establishment bandwagon and banging on about bringing down the ‘left-wing establishment’.

Just this week, the president of the US, Donald Trump, labelled leaders of Democrat-run cities ‘radical left’. People accuse the BBC of being some kind of anarcho-Stalinist propaganda machine or a pinko-liberal hippy commune. People have been accusing vast international companies like Google, Nike and Netflix of wanting to destroy capitalism. Which would be like you or I wanting to destroy oxygen.

Some people are even trying to tell the world that Hitler was left-wing.

If it wasn’t so tragic, it’d be hilarious. I mean, have a look around. Bar the odd freakish exception, every government and major corporation on the planet, every mainstream media outlet (yes, even the BBC and CNN), from Belgium to Brazil, is centre-to-right-leaning in its thinking and policies. They are all conservative, with a small ‘c’ at least, because the truth is that power is unavoidably conservative. I.e. it likes to keep things pretty much as they are.

What’s happening is gaslighting on a global scale to protect established power structures and reinforce the cycle of privilege that perpetuates the real elite – and it’s not just coming from the traditional right.

How Two Seemingly Unrelated Events Laid Israel’s Racism Problem Bare

A viral video showing an Israeli family mocking impoverished Palestinian children and a controversial New York Times editorial by famed Zionist commentator Peter Beinart have exposed the racist underpinning of the so-called Jewish state.

Two seemingly unrelated items hit social media recently and both received a lot of attention. The first was an article by Peter Beinart that was published in the New York Times where Beinart claims he no longer believes in a Jewish State and calls for a binational state with equal rights in Palestine. The other, a video clip showing an Israeli family riding in a car when two children approach them. The car window opens and we hear the father ask the children in Hebrew, “Who wants to feed a Bedouin?” While these two seem unrelated, there is something equally disturbing about both of them.

A Jewish home in Palestine

One might think that the epiphany experienced by yet another liberal Zionist, and one that has access to the mainstream media, should be celebrated. After all, another well known Jewish American has reached the conclusion that Palestinians deserve equal rights in their own country. However, as we read this article there are several disturbing elements that dampen the excitement.

Beinart shares with the readers, “I knew that Israel was a source of comfort and pride to millions of other Jews.” He explains that this is why he believed in the Jewish state. One could argue that slavery was a source of comfort and pride for millions of white Americans, yet to support slavery is still abhorrent.

He goes on to describe a sentiment that one hears from many liberal Zionists. “One day in early adulthood, I walked through Jerusalem, reading street names that catalog Jewish history, and felt that comfort and pride myself.” Jerusalem was an Arab city for over a thousand years. In 1948, Palestinians in Jerusalem were subjected to a total and complete ethnic cleansing, and not a single Palestinian was allowed to remain in the city. Jerusalem then became the capital city of the state of Israel and the street names, which used to catalog the long and magnificent Arab history of the city, were changed.

“I knew Israel was wrong to deny Palestinians in the West Bank citizenship, due process, free movement and the right to vote in the country in which they lived.” What about the rights of millions of Palestinians languishing in refugee camps? This country that gave him, and Jews like him, such pride is denying millions of Palestinians their right to return to the lands and homes from which they were expelled.

“But the dream of a two-state solution that would give Palestinians a country of their own let me hope that I could remain a liberal and a supporter of Jewish statehood at the same time.” That was precisely what the scam of the Two State Solution was set to do. To allow liberal Zionists to support the crimes of Zionism and the creation of a racist state in Palestine while still feeling good about themselves.

Daesh must be held to account for its crimes

There is no question that those responsible for acts of mind-numbing atrocities and destruction against the Syrian people are criminals and should be held accountable. The impediment to bringing to justice those principally responsible, however, is the fact that they are the chief architects and designers of the foreign policies of Western imperialism, of which Daesh is the almost inevitable result.

Militant group Daesh was, and is, the chief culprit masquerading as the founders of a new Islamic Caliphate. In the process, this group of extremists embarked on an orgy of death and destruction and laid waste to two Middle East counties while working with other rebel forces to carry out their wars of regime-change on behalf of the West.

There are precedents for such acts of barbarism. In the mid-seventies, Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge destroyed the cultural heritage of Cambodia during their reign of terror and mass murder. The preconditions for both Daesh and the Pol Pot regime to be able to carry out their atrocities were put in place by Western imperialist hegemony.

In Daesh’s case, the seeds were sown by the illegal 2003 invasion and occupation of Iraq by a US-led coalition, a clear example of Western supremacist designs. This invasion led to the killing of over one million Iraqis, and produced more than five million refugees.

To Block Trump’s Troop Withdrawals, Congress Turns An Old Tactic Upside Down

A bipartisan group of House lawmakers who want to stop President Donald Trump from pulling U.S. troops from military conflicts and overseas bases are using a once-unusual tactic that has in the last three years become Congress’ go-to tool.

Lawmakers from the Senate and the House have in the last three years sought to use legislation to prevent the president from pulling troops from Afghanistan, Syria, South Korea, and now Germany — unless the administration certifies that a withdrawal will not harm U.S. or allied interests.

It’s an unusual reversal for Congress, which historically is far more likely to seek to force a return of American troops, not demand that they remain deployed. According to Danielle Lupton, a Colgate University professor who has tracked foreign policy and defense votes since the late 1970s, “the overwhelming majority of votes related to use of force or troop deployments” have sought to bring troops home or constrain the president from using force. Although there are a few cases where Congress voted to support a deployment, Lupton said, it was typically a friendly legislature acting symbolically to reaffirm the president’s foreign policy.

But as lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have grown increasingly concerned about the decision-making behind Trump’s withdrawal efforts — described by former administration officials as erratic, impulsive outbursts driven by domestic politics — this unconventional tactic has gained popularity.

“He’s not a strategic thinker, but he has some instincts that have been consistent,” said John Owen, head of the University of Virginia’s Department of Politics. “One of those is that the U.S. has fought a lot of worthless wars, in particular Iraq and Afghanistan, and the second is that the U.S. is being exploited by freeriding allies. The problem he has is that very few in Congress agree with him.”

There is precedent for the political tactic underlying the demand for certification, said Peter Feaver, a civil-military relations scholar at Duke University — but in that instance, Congress was seeking to block further use of force, not prolong it. In 2007, Congress did not explicitly prevent funding for then-President George W. Bush’s Iraq surge, but it did require the president certify certain benchmarks had been met before any of the funds made available for Iraq could be spent.

Three NYPD Officers Violently Attacked by BLM Militants Crossing Brooklyn Bridge – Officers Sustained Serious Injuries

Three NYPD officers were violently attacked by Black Lives Matter militants on Wednesday.

The BLM terrorists were crossing the Brooklyn Bridge when they clubbed three police officers with a weapon.

This is Communist Mayor Bill de Blasio’s New York.

WATCH:

There were 15 shootings in a 15 hour period last weekend in New York City.

Murder and shootings are soaring this year compared to last year.

And Bill de Blasio and his city officials just voted to cut the police budget by one billion dollars or around the same amount of cash that Bill de Blasio’s wife lost in one of her special projects.

One NYPD officer was put in a choke hold last weekend while locals stood around and cheered!

There is a total break down of law and order under Communist de Blasio.

Public's disconnect from COVID-19 reality worries experts

The United States is being ravaged by a deadly pandemic that is growing exponentially, overwhelming health care systems and costing thousands of lives, to say nothing of an economic recession that threatens to plague the nation for years to come.

But the American public seems to be over the pandemic, eager to get kids back in schools, ready to hit the bar scene and hungry for Major League Baseball to play its abbreviated season.

The startling divergence between the brutal reality of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the fantasy land of a forthcoming return to normalcy has public health experts depressed and anxious about what is to come. The worst is not behind us, they say, by any stretch of the imagination.

“It’s an absolute disconnect between our perceived reality and our actual reality,” said Craig Spencer, a New York City emergency room doctor who directs global health in emergency medicine at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. “To look at the COVID case count and the surge in cases and to think that we can have these discussions as we have uncontrolled spread, to think we can have some national strategy for reopening schools when we don’t even have one for reopening the country, it’s just crazy.”

The number of dead from the virus in the United States alone, almost 136,000, is roughly equal to the populations of Charleston, S.C., or Gainesville, Fla. If everyone in America who had been infected lived in the same city, that city would be the third-largest in the country, behind only New York and Los Angeles. More people in the United States have tested positive for the coronavirus than live in the state of Utah. By the weekend, there are likely to be more confirmed coronavirus cases than there are residents of Connecticut.

There are signs that the outbreak is getting worse, not better. The 10 days with the highest number of new coronavirus infections in the United States have come in the past 11 days.

Case counts, hospitalizations and even deaths are on the rise across the nation, not only in Southern states that were slow to embrace lockdowns in March and April.

Central Banks Have Wrecked Most Hedge Fund Strategies, New Study Finds

Ever since our creation, we have mocked the obsolescence of the concept of hedging in a centrally-planned, Fed controlled market (hence our name) saying - for example in 2015 - that "we are confident that as long as the Fed and central banks double as Chief Risk Officers for the market, "hedge" funds will be on an accelerated path to extinction, quite simply because in a world where a central banker's money printer is the best and only "hedge" (for now), there is no reason to fear capital loss."

But while hedge funds may be obsolete in a world in which there is no need to protect downside risk if central banks will inject trillion in liquidity any time there is even a modest pullback, then running a value investing strategy has been outright masochism, as fundamentals ceased to matter once the only thing that did matter is the Fed's balance sheet, something we first pointed out back in 2010:

Take home message from Value Investor Congress: we are sick of looking at the Fed's H.4.1 statement for investment decisions

— zerohedge (@zerohedge) October 13, 2010

This is especially true if paired with a short growth trade as the following chart make all too clear:

Media Should Do A Mea Culpa as French Analysis Offers a Stunning Observation About Hydroxychloroquine Use

We have been told repeatedly by health experts to demonstrate the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine and the other meds prescribed with it we need strict clinical trials. These are studies where some patients receive medication, and some do not. For many healthcare providers, this is a noxious thought if there is evidence to believe a treatment may work.

How do you ethically deny a potential treatment to an eligible patient to conduct a study? So-called double-blind studies described above are the preferred method advocated by Dr. Fauci. These double-blind studies allow people to die in the name of “science” if a drug is effective. They are in the “control group.”

There are ethical issues with this approach that researches at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center addressed with a new concurrent trial based on machine learning developed following the H1N1 pandemic. This method has been ignored by the NIH and FDA approval processes.

Such was the fate of the hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin, and zinc combination. Scientifically there was every reason to believe it would work. Clinically, doctors saw results when directly treating patients. Several recommended that the drug be produced in sufficient amounts and given early and outpatient.

President Trump expressed optimism based on studies in France and China, and the media freaked out. The president’s political opposition would go on to cling to any proof the drug would not work and suppress any information that it would. This politicization culminated in the horrific study published by Lancet that the publication quietly retracted.

However, the damage was already done. The World Health Organization suspended trials immediately after the study published in Lancet. Switzerland, which had been using the treatment, prohibited the use of the drug in COVID-19 shortly after that on May 27th. The retraction was so stealth that the ban was not lifted in Switzerland until June 11th.

This window allowed French researchers to analyze what happened in the entire population of COVID-19 patients during the ban. They used the case fatality rate (CFR) as the measure observed. The graph is stunning.

Protesters in Kentucky Charged With Trying to Intimidate the Attorney General

The Louisville Metro Police Department says that 87 protesters demanding the arrest of police officers involved in the shooting of Breonna Taylor were themselves arrested at the home of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron. The protesters, many of them sitting on the lawn in front of Cameron’s house, were arrested without incident.

They were charged with “Intimidating a Participant in a Legal Process (Class D felony), Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree (Class B misdemeanor), and Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree. (Violation).”

CBS News:

The protest began Tuesday evening near Ballard High School in Louisville, Kentucky, CBS News affiliate WLKY-TV reports. The protesters marched from the school to Cameron’s home, with many of the demonstrators sitting and standing on Cameron’s lawn. The protesters, who were chanting slogans demanding justice for Taylor, were asked to leave by the police, but many chose to stay. Those who did were arrested without incident, according to WLKY-TV.

The police say that the protesters were trying to “influence the decision of the Attorney General with their action.” They weren’t over there to borrow a cup of sugar.

And they sought to influence the AG by threatening his private home. “Nice house ya got there, Mr. Cameron. Be a shame if anything happened to it.”

It doesn’t matter if they were sitting, standing, or playing solitaire. Their very presence was meant to intimidate, regardless of the protestations of their apologists.

If Black Lives Matter wants a legal system that tolerates intimidation and threats, how would that be an improvement over what we have now?

Cameron said his office will “continue with a thorough and fair investigation” into Taylor’s death and said the protest “will not alter our pursuit of the truth.”

“The stated goal of today’s protest at my home was to ‘escalate,'” Cameron added. “That is not acceptable and only serves to further division and tension within our community. Justice is not achieved by trespassing on private property, and it’s not achieved through escalation. It’s achieved by examining the facts in an impartial and unbiased manner. That is exactly what we are doing and will continue to do in this investigation.”

There are boundaries that can’t be crossed no matter what your definition of “justice” might be. Protesting in front of the offices of the attorney general is one thing. Those offices are located in a public building and it’s perfectly legitimate to let the AG know your feelings there.

But David Cameron is not attorney general 24 hours a day. He has a home, and presumably a family. What do his wife and kids have to do with anything he does in his official capacity as attorney general?

We’re seeing more and more of this from leftist protesters — trying to intimidate people in public life by threatening those whom they love. A home should be a sanctuary, even for those you disagree with.

I liked the left better when they weren’t such a**holes.

Wedding Massacre In Yemen: 25 Killed In Saudi-Coalition Airstrikes On Al-Jawf (Video)

More than 25 people were killed and many others were injured on July 15 when Saudi-led coalition warplanes targeted a wedding in the northern Yemeni province of al-Jawf.

The wedding, attended only by women and children, was held in the house of Mabkout Marzouq Merhi in the area of al-Masa’fah.

“Ma’rib Hospital has received more than 16 shredded bodies of women and children and a number of wounded, who were victims of the al-Masa’fah crime , while al-Hazm Hospital has received 8 bodies of martyrs and a number of wounded,” a source familiar with the situation told the al-Masirah TV.

The death toll will likely rise in the upcoming few hours as Yemeni sources are reporting that many of the wounded are in a critical condition.

A spokesman of the Houthi-affiliated Salvation Government in Sanaa, Deif Allah al-Shami, called the coalition airstrikes a “full-fledged war crime,” vowing to response.

“The crimes of aggression will not go unnoticed and the response will be painful,” al-Shami said.

The Saudi-led coalition has not commented on the matter, so far. The airstrikes may have been meant as a response to a recent missile and drone attack by the Houthis on Saudi Arabia, which took place three days ago.

Al-Masa’fah wedding massacre is not an isolated incident. Earlier this week, a series of Saudi-led coalition airstrikes on the northwestern Yemeni province of Hajjah claimed the lives of nine women and children.

BLM Toronto Leader in Crosshairs Over 'Whites Are Genetic Defects' Remark Attributed to Her

One of the social media posts that was allegedly written by Khogali claims that "white ppl" need white supremacy in order to "protect their survival as a people because all they can do is produce themselves".

Yusra Khogali, co-founder of Black Lives Matter Toronto, has recently come under fire online after several unflattering remarks about white people she allegedly made online came to light, The Post Millennial reports.

According to the media outlet, said remarks were made by Khogali in a post "on what appears to be her Facebook", which went viral after being shared by scholar James Lindsay.

The post in question states that "white ppl are recessive genetic defects", postulating that "white ppl need white supremacy as a mechanism to protect their survival as a people because all they can do is produce themselves".

And another tweet, also attributed to Khogali, features the following sentence: "Plz Allah give me the strength to not cuss/kill these men and white folks out here today."

Many social media users did not seem to be particularly thrilled with these statements, mocking the posts' wording and even comparing the former post to a work of "a 19th Century racial eugenicist".

I love the fact that it reads like a 19th Century racial eugenicist. Even the "x" in humxn sort of gives it the feel of having an archaic typographic style.

The Great Reset Fraud

Like everyone, I would love to live in a pollution-free world.

I would love to see human civilization strike a balance with nature and at the risk of sounding like a naïve idealist, I sincerely do believe that this is ultimately our destiny as a species.

My personal experience has led me to the conclusion that we have only failed to achieve this paradigm as a species due to the system (and cultural influence) of oligarchism which has managed to stubbornly sink its claws parasitically onto its host for a few too many generations- corrupting and perverting everything that it dominates.

Due to the pervasiveness of oligarchism, mass exploitation, wars and pollution have lain waste to ecosystems and countless human lives alike, and as the neo-liberal order continues to careen towards the inevitable breakdown of a 2 quadrillion dollar derivatives bubble which our un-repentant decades of decadence has caused, very serious choices will need to be made.

False Remedies to the Oncoming Meltdown

Many false solutions will be presented as society wakes up to the burning building it is trapped in, and unless our minds have become aware of those false solutions, (not to mention those arsonists managing this fire from the top), then many well-intentioned souls from all walks of life may sign onto their own death warrants and accidentally usher in a solution far worse than the disease they sought to remedy.

Before you, dear reader, accuse me of being overly dramatic in my claims, let me bring your attention to a June 3rd event sponsored by the World Economic Forum (WEF) entitled The Great Reset featuring impassioned calls by leaders of the IMF, World Bank, UK, USA, corporate and banking sector to take advantage of COVID-19 to shut down and “reset” the world economy under a new operating system entitled the Green New Deal.

WEF founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab said “the world must act jointly and swiftly to revamp all aspects of our societies and economies, from education to social contracts and working conditions… Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed. In short, we need a ‘Great Reset’ of capitalism.”

Schwab’s message was amplified by Prince Charles who gushed over the this golden opportunity to radically modify human behaviour in ways that decades of environmentalism have failed to accomplish when he said: “We have a golden opportunity to seize something good from this [COVID-19] crisis. Its unprecedented shockwaves may well make people more receptive to big visions of change,”

While the World Economic Forum is usually known as a forum of global corporate elites, this organization branched out in recent years to become a leader in global pandemic coordination as a co-sponsor of the creepy October 2019 Event 201 and has embraced leaders of typically “anti-capitalist” resistance groups like Greenpeace who now speak regularly at their events.

Jennifer Morgan (current head of Greenpeace) stated at the event “We set up a new world order after World War II… We’re now in a different world than we were then. We need to ask, what can we be doing differently? The World Economic Forum has a big responsibility in that as well—to be pushing the reset button and looking at how to create well-being for people and for the Earth.”

So is this definition of international wellbeing truly what it appears? Or does something more nefarious lurk under the surface? How can we know?

It’s NOT Just About Masks

There. I’ve given myself permission to be angry about the latest mask mandates, furious even, feeling like a child being ordered yet again about what I can and cannot do, dictated by the same gallery of “experts” who months ago proclaimed that all these measures were about “flattening the curve.” Remember that? Now it’s about “containing the spread!”

Next, well, who the hell knows, right? Let’s just keep the daily death-o-meter going, shall we? And if the fatality numbers don’t add well enough, then just scream “COVID-19 cases are spiking!” regardless of whether people are sick or not, regardless of whether the tests are accurate or not. Regardless of whether the rules, mandates, and figures make sense. In fact, it doesn’t have to make sense at all, even when it does on some obscure level, or maybe it once did but doesn’t anymore.

But who the hell knows, right? The only thing I’m required to do is obey and behave. Mask as muzzle.

And it breaks my heart to suspect—not without reason—that masks are here to stay. Because the powers-that-be know a good thing when they see one: a population forever in fear, suspicious of their fellow human being, afraid of breathing the same air, of touching each other, becoming so well-trained that we’ll even celebrate the mask. Mask as ritual. Mask as fashion statement.

Hey, I get the health reasoning behind it. I’ve seen the news, heard the interviews with medical professionals and first responders; looked over the CDC and WHO guidelines. Being the highly distrustful sort, I’ve also amassed dozens of videos and articles questioning how effective masks are, not to mention raising serious questions about the entire official COVID narrative, which is littered with contradictions.

NOTE TO SELF: Despite tons of ongoing research, I don’t consider myself a health expert. But I do trust my intuition, as well as street smarts, honed from growing up in the South Bronx, where you quickly learn to sense when “shit just don’t smell right.”

That said, what gets me pissed and bewildered about mask mania is that virtually everyone is being forced to wear one every day. And depending on your job, it could be for hours every day. And then you get on a train or bus, or go shopping, or go to the park (if it’s open), or the beach (if it’s open), and you have to wear a mask yet again, forever looking for precious moments when you can breathe some precious oxygen.

Oh wait, I forgot. We’re all doing this for our health. My bad.

A constant theme one hears repeatedly about masks is: Look at how effective their use has been to control COVID-19 in South Korea, or China or wherever. I believe that’s largely true.

However, these country-to-country comparisons mask a certain reality, at least to my way of thinking. Namely, that the United States of America is not just another country. It’s the global center of capitalist empire, of endless wars, countless bombings, murderous sanctions, and toxic occupations.

This is true character of “American Exceptionalism,” one built not on superiority, but of exceptional and historical barbarism, built on genocide, massive land theft, and slave labor, the very antithesis of health.

So, for me, this is NOT just about masks. It’s about living (and dying) a government and system that does not care about health, that cannot even provide universal and free health care for all, where tens of millions are unemployed, suffocating under mountains of debt.

CIA Info War Succeeds: Afghanistan Occupation Forced To Continue

The neocon dogma pushed onto liberals by never-Trump Republicans did its job. Partisan liberals are parroting the line of the CIA. The attempt to sabotage talks with the Taliban and prevent troop withdrawals from Afghanistan worked. “The Resistance” just helped push the continued occupation of Afghanistan to score cheap political points. The CIA thanks them for their “patriotism.”

On July 1st the House Armed Services Committee voted to hinder Donald Trump’s ability to withdraw troops from Afghanistan. House Democrats on the committee teamed up with Republicans, including Liz Cheney (daughter of war-architect Dick Cheney), to pass an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act “that prohibits Congress from spending money to pull US troops out of Afghanistan without first meeting a series of vague conditions that critics said appeared to prevent withdrawal.” Without any public debate, the US will now continue its occupation after the CIA claimed that Russia payed Taliban-linked groups to kill American soldiers.

What’s the evidence? General John Nicholson speculated that Russia was arming the Taliban in 2017. In April 2019, three marines were killed in an attack that the Taliban claimed responsibility for. Unnamed intelligence officials believed that the Russians may have payed militants to attack US troops.

In March 2020, the CIA concluded that the Russians were paying the bounties. They cited testimony from captured militants and pointed to a Seal Team Six raid of a Taliban outpost that resulted in the recovery of a half a million in cash.

That’s it. That’s all the information that the American public is allowed to know.

It’s hardly even mentioned that the NSA disagreed with the CIA’s assessment, stating:

the information wasn’t verified and that intelligence officials didn’t agree on it.”

Furthermore, the Department of Defense (DOD) claimed that “to date, DOD has no corroborating evidence to validate the recent allegations found in open-source reports.” Americans are taking the CIA’s word as gospel.

How exactly did the CIA conclude that the half a million in cash came from Russia and not from Taliban opium-trafficking operations? The US military claimed that 60% of the Taliban’s funding comes from the opium trade.

Is $500,000 in cash unheard of in opium sales? Who are these captured militants that claimed that Russia payed bounties for dead American soldiers? Were these militants tortured by the CIA? The CIA has the largest torture program in the world. Is the information reliable or was the information obtained under dubious circumstances? How do we even know these militants actually made these claims?

CENTCOM chief: A war with Israel would not end well for Hezbollah

“I think it would be a great mistake for Hezbollah to try to carry out operations against Israel. I can’t see that having a good ending.”

CENTCOM head Gen. Kenneth McKenzie said it would be a great mistake for Hezbollah to try to carry out operations against Israel.

“I can’t see that having a good ending,” he said at a briefing during a major trip to the Middle East this week. McKenzie has visited Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar and Kuwait. The US general also acknowledged continuing tensions in Syria and with Iran across the region.

This is McKenzie’s first trip to the region since February. He visited Israel in November last year during the rising tensions between the US and Iran. Since February, US forces in Iraq have faced repeated rocket attacks by Iranian-backed groups, and the US retaliated with airstrikes in March. McKenzie has helped bring air defense to protect those troops in Iraq and has called the situation with Iran “contested deterrence,” meaning that the Islamic Republic is deterred from further major attacks, but harassment by Iranian-backed groups continues.

“I’ve had the opportunity also to visit US troops in eastern and southern Syria,” he said. “This trip also gave me my first opportunity to meet the new prime minister of Iraq. It was very important for me to get back into the region because some things just can’t be seen on a video teleconference, and I think face-to-face engagement is very critical.”

McKenzie went to Lebanon at a time of major tensions between Hezbollah and the US Embassy. A Lebanese judge recently tried to prevent US Ambassador Dorothy Shea from giving interviews, after she was accused of stoking local controversies with Hezbollah.

Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah gave a threatening speech last week, where he encouraged a confrontation with the US. America is also in hot water in Lebanon after airlifting a Lebanese American out of the country on a military helicopter in March.

It is in this context that McKenzie sought to both acknowledge that Hezbollah “remains a problem” and to recognize its role in Lebanon. He was tight-lipped on precisely what the US meant when he said “we recognize that it’s there.”

But he went on to warn Hezbollah against attacking Israel. “We’d be – I’d be blind to say we don’t see it [Hezbollah] there. We recognize that local people there in Lebanon have to make accommodations as a result of that. But I think it would be a great mistake for Hezbollah to try to carry out operations against Israel. I can’t see that having a good ending.”

ASKED ABOUT the recent mysterious explosion at the Natanz enrichment facility in Iran, the American general would not speculate on what may or may not have happened to the Iranian nuclear program. He said that in Syria, the US continues to assist the Syrian Democratic Forces in anti-ISIS operations.

He said Washington is seeking to create “local conditions that will allow security forces on the ground to be able to deal with these attacks from ISIS. It is not a bloodless future. Rather, it is a future that can be handled by local people, and we’re working very hard, up and down the Euphrates River Valley, and particularly east of the Euphrates River Valley, with our partners there, to ensure that local security forces are in place and will be able to prevent this.”

McKenzie also detailed recent incidents with the Russians and Syrian regime forces in eastern Syria. He said that by using proper channels with the Russians, they have been responsive to issues in eastern Syria. “I am comfortable with where we are right now.”

The US general also said he was aware of reports of Iran establishing military bases for missiles along the coastline of southern Iran.

“Iran has long had bases in – along the northern part of the coast there that could potentially threaten it. So we watch it closely. I’m not aware that this presents any particularly new or different threat than those that we have seen in the past, and I’m confident that through entities such as the International Maritime Security Construct, we’re able to ensure that commerce passes unimpeded, and we’re able to shine a spotlight on malign activities that occur,” he said.

US forces in Iraq continue to face threats from Iranian-backed groups. CENTCOM says that America and Iraq are involved in a strategic dialogue now and that it is entering a “second phase.” McKenzie said he hopes Iraq would see “the virtue of continuing to have US and anti-ISIS coalition forces in the country.”
