And some history on the dam. Chink hydrologist made 12 predictions about the dam. All have come to pass except the collapse. The dam was poorly sited because of seismic issues, sedimentation and dynamic riverbed. Cracks started forming vertically as soon as they began filling the reservoir. Like all things slant eyed, cheap materials and corner cutting will lead to failure.
China over a 5-year period went from claiming the dam would handle 10K year storms then 1K year storms to now claiming 100-year storms (which this current rainfall has now exceeded anything in over 100-years). Reminds me of some other slant eyes that said it would take 100K men 100K years to take their island only to have the USMC take it with 18K in two weeks.
