Have gone through a few hundred pages of the new FBI drop on "Barry" Seal.

Was specifically looking for Mena, Arkansas locales and found an interesting tidbit. This is what was found:

On August 12th, the Polk County Sheriff was interviewed and an Confidential Informant said he witnessed an aircraft with tail number N8049Z taking off very quickly from the apron because the runway was defective.

Also on August 12th, an investigator for the Arkansas State Police was interviewed and had no knowledge of narcotics or criminal activity.

Now this very conflicting because the Sheriff had knowledge of criminal activity through the confidential informant, but at the same time the State Police believed there was no criminal activity. (Troopergate recruiter? >https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troopergate_(Bill_Clinton) )

And wouldn't you it, just 3 days later the Little Arkansas FBI branch closed the case.

On a side note, but seems relevant, have looked for the owner of this tail number (N8049Z) and its registration was cancelled in 2013. Is there a site that can find previous owners?
