On The Scope:

Yacht Tracking SitRep

As far as the UAE’s al-Nahyan boys and their tubs go, AZZAM still shows in Barcelona, Spain, but that track is more than 10 days old. No hits on TOPAZ or M/Y YAS.

Al Waleed’s KINGDOM-5R is still in San Remo harbor. A couple of lesser known but still tracked boats on the top 40 showing in Antibes, not worried about them. The Med Coast has a few others here and there, but they are not under focused observation.

Bezos’ FLYING FOX is now pierside in La Ciotat. Most of the other yachts being tracked are in the same locations as we found them a month ago.

Graeme Hart’s boat, ULYSSES, is leaving Drubrovnik, Croatia and heading SE, but that course will change once he’s out of the islands and in the Adriatic proper.

Nat Rothschild’s PLANET NINE is rounding the southern point of the Greek Isle of Kithira, heading due ESE at about 10 kts.

Geffen’s boat RISING SUN has departed St. Thomas 4 days ago and was last tracked heading NNW at 20 kts. That's fast for most yachts, but Geffen's boat has 4 MTU diesel engines and a cruise speed of 26kts. Tops out around 30kts, fast for a yacht.

Last track on Wexner’s boat LIMITLESS showed her in Newport RI harbor, but that track is 8 days old.

South China Sea

No traffic patterns observed out of the ordinary.

Middle East

Traffic in the Petroleum Gulf looks normal, except that ships are tending to stay closer to the west side of the Gulf. Understandable since the Iranians have really taken a pounding over the past few weeks. Traffic in and out of Iran, particularly Bushehr and Bandar Abbas, is lighter than normal and many vessels are just anchored. It looks like the Iranians are mostly buttoned up, and everyone else in the Gulf is hoping to avoid being the one the Iranians select when they decide to act out.

US Naval Ports (East and West Coast US, plus Pearl Harbor)

Quiet, especially in San Diego, which is unsurprising considering the USS BONHOMME RICHARD fire.

The Med

Typical traffic.

Caribbean

Typical traffic.

Nothing further to report at this time.

o7. Always a pleasure, but I've been down lately a lot. Snagged a new contract and there's a fair amount of training. Will be like that for another month or two.

I'll do the best I can. I greatly appreciate all of you anons who dig, meme and pray. We just watch boats.

Boatfag here. Dunno the sauce, but the map is correct and much of the data I recognize is correct based on my knowledge from past research. It's a good layout.

Speed is part of it. We do have some seagoing and air-launched technology that is capable of handling intercepts at that speed, but the problem is one of having the time to get the tech into position, and knowing where to put the tech.

And that's a problem with missiles fired from fixed land positions. Some are mobile. And some are in the friggin' ocean, so you won't have any idea where they are until they pop up on radar.

Oh, and don't even think that the sub-launched birds will be lofted from half a world away. The ideal situation is to get in close and leave no time to react. Decapitation strike, and then nuke the rest at your leisure, if you need to.

Fortunately, the rest of the world doesn't have nearly as many warheads in their seagoing arsenal. Only the Russkies come close.
