Shouldn't be too hard to make Looking Glass tech, you should just need two electrostatic generators.
Looking glass would be a generated void that is insulated within another field (planetary, whatever) that uses the surrounding aether to fill that same void and generate imagery and colours from the surrounding population (as well insulated in that same field).
At least in my brain that's the potential for the tech.
