'Beyond The Borders' Black Lives Matter Protest Planned In Palos
A Black Lives Matter group plans to meet at Stagg High School and march along Roberts Road on Saturday, July 18.
PALOS HILLS, IL — Beyond the Borders Chicago will be holding a Black Lives Matter march in Palos Hills this Saturday, July 18, starting at 4 p.m. The summer series of protests is to bring its message of ending systemic racism beyond the borders and blockages within the city to predominantly white communities "that need to hear us the most."
Protesters will meet at Stagg High School, 8015 W. 111th St., Palos Hills. From Stagg, the march will head north on Roberts Road, pausing for a moment of silence at 103rd Street, then looping back on Roberts to Stagg. Participants are welcome to park their cars and/or get picked up and dropped off the high school.
The march will proceed rain or shine, so dress appropriately. Participants are asked to wear face masks and to practice social distancing.
Beyond the Borders has been organizing multiple protests in different neighborhoods and towns throughout the summer, including Chicago's Mount Greenwood neighborhood, Tinley Park and other south suburbs. This is an ongoing effort.
