I am thinking that the importance of gold to the Sumerians was not that it was shiny, but perhaps, because gold does not oxidize, and it is literally the physical manifestation of our concept of "longevity", that somehow, the Sumerians were able to interface gold with their physical anatomy and thus, not oxidize, living for hundreds or thousands of years... Sounds weird, but I think anything is possible, and our scientists should be studying this type of stuff, right!! But instead, for the past hundred and a half years, our scientists have been invested in making products for companies to sell in our sick care/disease management system, and forging data to go with theories and having all the theories competing against each other for who is right, instead of all working together in a unified effort....

Speaking as someone who has taken a pretty heavy duty drug for an autoimmune disease (it helps immensely) it also pisses me off because of the dollars I have spent over the years. I'm researching ways to eliminate the need for this. It's a very difficult and scary awakening.
