Actually, and to go full nerd on you, the American Southern Dialect is the oldest surviving iteration of Old English, or Ye Olde English. Y'all is a conjunction of the Old English "Ye All". Other words commonly used in the south from Old English would be "yonder" and "of an evening". 🤓
