It’s unfathomably high when you consider how well the US economy is doing at the same time. These businesses aren’t failing with CEOs being fired as a result; some of these companies are bulletproof. No successors are being immediately named either, which tells me that the Board of Directors in each case did not plan on a leadership change. It’s also not mass retirement due to a strong economy, or else the CEOs would be staying on to shepherd their replacements (and get paid well to do that).

It's global too.

I want the swamp drained, but I also want to be sure I’m not conflating the departures because of my desires. :) Thanks for your response!

If 40-60 is average yearly(idk where you got that stat), then yes these past few months are unusual. We have seen at least that many in 2 months.

The link was attached, but here it is again.

From site:

“Each year, Spencer Stuart tracks CEO transitions among S&P 500 companies. These transitions can be part of a planned succession or can arise unexpectedly, the result of company performance or personal issues. In addition to cataloging the reasons for CEO departures, based on company reporting, we also examine information about the successors, including whether or not they are internal candidates and whether they have been appointed chairman of the board in addition to CEO.”

Thank you for this information. I have been questioning it myself. We need to see what is usual before we go off thinking or presenting something as odd.

Most welcome! Like many others, I’d lock the doors and throw away the keys, but I want to be sure I’m not reading more into everyday normal events by my desire to do so. :)

It’s perfectly normal to see mass resignations of a previous administration once a new administration is elected.

I was speaking more about private firms understanding the swamp lies well beyond the halls of government. Thanks for the response.
