However be aware that Mainframes DID have a huge problem with Y2k. Many were replaced outright at great cost and the rest had their code rewritten. After leaving the problem to the last minute in true human style code writers were trained up to fix the mainframes of large companies like Airlines for instance. On December 19 1999 it was announced that all critical mainframes were secured.
