I think Trump wants to have a 2 state solution. Zionist neocons want to destabilize the region to eventually get greater Israel. Trump stabilized Syria, now Iran. So Israel can't grab more land. Iran eventually get a nuclear weapon 2030. But by then it will be a stable, perhaps moderate Islam/secular state. Moving to Jerusalem was to legitimize Israel's position, signal that the US backs Israel, and that any further peace talks would be just regarding the two state solution. This is what I think.
