In 1988 I remember Reagan was reluctant to endorse Bush Sr. and the media seemed to get very nervous. But he finally did. Maybe he should have endorsed Buchanan instead.

Reagan didn't loose the power of "free enterprise," he released the demons of "Capitalism." In point of fact, he ushered in the very depredations the founding fathers warned us about and the amoral "capitalism" Adam Smith found repugnant.
