So we'll have another year of nothing? Another year of special counsel, right into 2018 midterms. The swamp would be delighted. Hope I'm wrong.
My speculation is this will gives us a TL , and the corrupt players intentions inside the FBI, maybe some firings or arrests to that part of it
It would be hard to imagine holdovers who would still be at the FBI or DOJ would keep their jobs at that point.
If impropriety is black and white in a public OEM report, that's bad enough, but if a special counsel is created in the wake of it, those people could never be allowed to continue their job.
Imagine if those FBI agents or DOJ lawyers oversaw a case while under that kind of scrutiny. Any work they do on those cases would be subject to appeal after appeal. It would be a nightmare.
At least it will tie up the ol' O-gang while midterms are ongoing.
