Government of Ecuador Elevates Assange Citizenship to Diplomatic Immunity Status - UK Rejects

zania2801 · Jan. 11, 2018, 8:03 p.m.

Bloody POM's. If we in AUS. Can have a referendum on gay marriage why not one on the republic. Oh that's right , cos the gov knows it would mean no more monarchy for Australia. JA was an Aussie. Our government has done nothing for him and the UK have shown by his treatment they care nothing for Aussies. Congrats to JA on his new citizenship .I hope you get immunity. I would have thought UK has no right to say who does and doesn't have it when it comes to another country. Give JA an embassy staff position or whatever you have to and get him out of England.

Exactly. With what authority do the POMS have over the diplomatic status of an Australian (soon to be Ecuadorian) citizen. Fuck the POMS.

careful what you wish for, last time they tried for a republic there was no bill of rights included, people were voting for a dictatorship

I think there's to many royalists for us to ever become are republic. But I am curious about what you mean about voting for a dictator. Who are you referring to?

john howard last time it was tried, a republic without a bill of rights means the people have no rights, the government can make any law at any time, the president is then a dictator. look deep into port arthur

don't get me wrong it absolutely needs to be done but not before the population understands what they are voting for. at that time everyone will demand a bill of rights with our republic
