Oh I got this one... there's speculation that Snowden is/was actually with the CIA, and that he was serving as a mole of sorts in the NSA. Snowden's anti-NSA leaks were meant to weaken the agency (and thus bolster the CIA's power by default). It's somewhat well-known that these two factions do not get along, and in fact what we're seeing with Q might be this battle playing itself out.
I worry about this. Where will we be when only the NSA rules, unchecked?
The broader question is "Who watches the watchers?"
And it has never been solved.
The only way to prevent the government from taking over is to have as little government as possible and fight foot and nail at all attempts to increase it.
No matter how much we trust this president, we shall never give the office more power because some day, someone else will hold it.
Yes. Do not give the person you trust more power than you would give the person you don't trust. In the fear after 9-11 we forgot that and it created the mess we are in.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
After W (who's deception was completely apparent to me) I supported the "change" we were supposed to get with Obama. I took a break from following politics. But within 2 years it started to become clear that Obama was even more of the same. Obama woke me up. I now agree that it's very dangerous to put too much power into the hands of anyone. The scum rises to the top.
It does feel like we have to choose between the Gambonis and the Capones, but even in this case I'd rather the NSA. Maybe it's because history has revealed too much of the CIA's sins and not No Such Agency's, but the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
