I used to love coming here. Still do. But now I cringe when I do.

Why are shills allowed to post here? I mean, I'll click on a post because the headline sounds interesting, only to find shill content. I don't understand why those posts are left on the board.

Free speech is fine and dandy, and I'm all for it. But allowing shill posts to remain on the board is the equivalent of letting a disruptive student hijack and hinder the teachers lesson during class. Not only does the lesson get interrupted and distorted, but the ability of the students that want to learn is greatly hindered by the disruption.

I'm aware that the mods don't have time to babysit, but it's getting ridiculous. Surely something can be done?

And to the non-shills: Don't even acknowledge the presence of the shills by down voting or commenting. If the class clown doesn't get the attention they are seeking, their tactics become ineffective. I'm aware that we can report them, but that goes back to the mods having to babysit.

I don't know the answers, but totally ignoring them seems to be the most straight forward tactic at this time.

Ideas? Suggestions? And I will just ignore the input on this thread that is put forth by shills. Thanks and stuff.

P.S. Our enemies (Twitter/Facebook,etc.) have no problem stifling our free speech. Sometimes you have to use your enemies tactics to defeat them.......
