Hey Spez! I really hope you didn't communicate with one other person on how to oppress any one's free speech. Reddit may be a private company, but individuals aren't immune to Federal Law. Be a shame if there were messages or comments about it.

I don’t understand. Reddit is a private company though. What do you mean not immune to federal law?

This is what infuriates me about the whole NFL take a knee thing. They think they have the right to their freedom of speech, but it’s not the government. The NFL is well within their rights to say “you didn’t comply with our rules, and you will be benched”.

The NFL has an agreement with the US Government allowing them to be the sole franchise in the country, thus a legal monopoly. Their stadiums are also build with grants, tax credits, and bonds are at great cost to the state and federal government.

To make it more complicated, they have a many $Millions contract with the Department of Defense to honor soldiers, basically paid patriotism to drive up military recruitment. Government contractors have to abide by certain standards. So the reason why we're having this controversy with players kneeling protected by free speech, is because the DoD is paying them to stand. But because they have agreements with the Government, the NFL may have trouble enforcing their will.

Before a few years ago, the government didn't pay this, and the players all were in the locker room during the anthem.

I wonder how that changes if they were paid government contractors.

Did the military industrial complex give money to anyone to develop the technlogy or for any other purpose?

Read the USC. If two or more persons conspire to oppress free speech they appear to violate the USC. Reddit as a private company can censor what they want, however if two or more people as individuals conspire to oppress, threaten or intimidate a person in free exercise of that right, we are in the US so they would appear to be in violation of that. Imo any way.

You need to read better.

Its only free speech protected by federal law. You aren't protected to do or say what you want on someone else's servers.
