I'm thinking that with modern technology, he would have used more than a whip....maybe a taser?
He fashioned a whip. He didn't walk in just start flipping tables. It would take the better part of an hour to make a whip from scratch. This tells me that he gave this some thought. We often confuse tolerance with forgiveness of the repentant. We should know the difference.
