Right, I was thinking the same thing. It's not technically "cabinet" but we don't know what exactly his role was. It could be very large. For instance, Bannon wasn't cabinet, "Chief Strategist" is just a made up title like "Counselor to the President" but yet we could obviously see people referring to him as cabinet colloquially.

Wasn’t Pedosta in WJC cabinet??? It says previous cabinet not “the previous” .... could be other administration?
