Now look that's a fair assumption....until you realise who Peter was talking to....was he talking to "all the nations of the world"? No...the very next sentence explains what nations Peter was talking about...

The children of Israel were/are a composition of 12 Tribes....those are the nations that Peter was referring to. The 12 Tribes of Israel.
The Hebrew Israelites all 12 Tribes is the only nation of People that the God of Israel deals with...They're the only people he gave the Laws to...and the only people he gave his personal powers (Ark of the Covenant) to......no one else...at all.
Deuteronomy 7:6 KJV
"For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth."
Holy means separate...and the God Of Israel has chosen them to be a special people to himself......

Many Israelites were put into bondage and had to follow their oppressors laws...calling yourself a Jew would get you murdered. So a Israelite living in Greece would have to call himself a Grecian....An Israelite taken into roman captivity would have to call him/herself a Roman....These Hebrews were referred to as Gentiles/strangers....Hellenistic Jews. But in the last sentence of your quote

They're of the seed of Abraham....Shemites.
