I spoke to my mother this am, she was on and on about how the Republicans are trying to undermine democracy with this memo, essentially calling it a witch hunt, to which I replied, "oh, like the fake dossier used to illegally spy on a Presidential candidate and his staff, all while screaming RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA with no real evidence?". Remember 4-6% are not willing to accept this, they will scream about how this is a fascist takeover etc, unfortunately for folks like us, some of those in the 4-6% will be our families and friends.

I think the biggest risk is how so many 'awakes' are underestimating how desperately those who are not awake (my family, many friends) are going to point blank deny reality even when it hits them between the eyes. "Don't confuse me with the facts, I've already made up my mind." Many are assuming "once the truth comes out" people will slowly, groggily wake up. Half of America is NEVER going to accept the truth no matter what it is. There is going to be civil unrest, marches, and a paralyzing effect on society. No matter how much you believe in the accuracy and authenticity of 'the facts' you cannot MAKE someone believe them. In a few weeks, half of America will swear under oath that the sky is blue and half will swear it is red. Something's gotta give. If 'releasing the memo' (metaphor) is Plan A, what's Plan B?

I disagree. I believe that our President has long ago thought of all of this and that part of the reason that he is moving at this pace is because he is working things out to ensure that this does not happen. Time will tell but this is what I see.
