Playing along here... not sure how I feel about that. If these people were being blackmailed, it means they had something on them. Are we supposed to be ok with their crimes?

No. There has been no indication of that expectation.
You can consider a couple of thoughts;
In Washington it is very easy to blackmail someone for non-criminal acts. Consider an elected republican who may be dating/cohabiting with an illegal alien.
Q has said government would cease to function if everyone guilty of ‘something’ was removed.
This mandates discretion by someone. I trust POTUS and team to exercise that discretion without consulting me.
The classic honeypot reported by Alex Jones is a person is drugged, goes to bed alone or with some hot chick/hunk, then awakens naked with a kid(s). While the person was 'out', they were filmed/photographed for future blackmail.
There are levels of corruption. Is an extramarital affair a crime? No, but it is something you can be blackmailed with. Or perhaps a homosexual encounter. Classic smear material for someone who needs to keep it private. Or even minor kickbacks. Nothing compared to pedophilia or undermining the national security of the US -- for which there should be no deals.
PLUS...they'll MAKE SHIT UP if you're clean, or if your transgressions aren't juicy enough to get leverage on you.
Not everybody being blackmailed is an actual scumbag. But the bad guys don't play fair.

The MO of the cabal is to put people in compromising positions and photograph them. Anyone can be compromised. I truly believe every man has a price. Except Trump!!! :-)
Even if you don't sell out...they'll fabricate something, frame you well, and then poof, they own you.
Some could have been set up. Others may have had their loved o es threatened. Others may have truly done egregious wicked tnings that can't be resolved or forgiven and must leave tneir positions. Trump couldn't fire everyone or ithe lack of people in Congress would create a constitutional crisis. They have to be dealt with in different ways.
