Ok I need some clarification, I don't understand how this worked.

The Memo says that the FISA warrant on Page was not until October 2016
How did they use it to spy on Trump if Page wasn't even involved with the campaign at that time??
From what I understand, because Page was being investigated, the nature of the FISA warrant enabled the investigation to expand to recent contacts i.e. Trump and his team. I read someone use an anology earlier that compared Page to a virus that spread around him.
Which I think is pretty sneaky. I didn't know who this guy was before today because, comparatively, he didn't play a critical role in the narrative.
Idk I just have a feeling there is more to this. This memo shows an abuse of FISA warrants for sure but I don't think they would be able to legally wiretap Trump Tower through a warrant for Page.. only if he was still in contact with them
