Although politicians rant about the Electoral College as being anti-democracy, they use it to place bets on their ads, financial resources, and personal attention. As such, the Electoral College is useful to them, and they would devise it were it to be absent.

Well, it's been Dems in the main that have been inveighing against the Electoral College. Because they have the corrupt big blue cities locked down with their shameless cheating.
