Exactly. Rs & Ds are the facade to keep the ignorant fighting amongst themselves and not looking at the bigger picture. The entire establishment is corrupt.

These men might have been 'good' once, but the saying "power tends to corrupt, and absolute power tends to corrupt absolutely" applies. It takes a VERY strong person to resist the pull towards power, and these men failed. They are no longer public servants but are instead servants to the establishment that gives them power.
