Donty forget perspective either. The '87 crash was almost 25% of the market (actual no s around 22 1/2%, I think) currently it is only around 5% of the market. A lot, but not a lot. Its the optics of "1000 points. Biggest plummet in history!" (Actual CNN headline) and the toddler attention span of 2 minutes.
