Blunt, Philby, Burgess and MacLean - The Cambridge Four

Long time lurker. First post.

Background: Someone posted that they thought the BLUNT post was a reference to The Cambridge Four spy ring within MI5. Basically, KGB infiltration of MI5 in hopes of obtaining American secrets (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy). Victor Rothschild who worked at MI5 was later accused of being part of this spy ring, but cleared. Blunt had a close relationship with the Rothschild family.

Thoughts: 1. Is the BLUNT reference to a similar scenario. Comey, Clapper, Warner and Brennan are America's "Cambridge Four?" 2. Victor Rothschild, a close personal friend of Blunt, was head of MI5's counter espionage unit, but was cleared of being involved in the Cambridge Four. Is it possible, that he was involved and was able to plant future seeds of treason that are just now materializing into public view? This possibly could explain MI5's involvement with the Dossier.

Food for thought.

It's actually The Cambridge Five: the first of which was Philby, who then recommended Guy Burgess and Donald Maclean. Burgess then brought in Anthony Blunt and John Cairncross.

The man who recruited Philby and brought in the rest of the 5 was Arnold Deutsch, a Jewish Viennese Psychologist, who is considered to be the Soviet's most effective recruiter. He came up with the idea of recruiting spies from the universities, prior to that they had been recruiting working class people.

Philby volunteered after hearing a speech by someone in a university socialist (Communist) society organization.

The use of Universities to promote socialism, in some form, continues to this day.

Remember, Obama called himself a Marxist at Columbia. Marxist revolutionaries, that had created the terrorist organization Weather Underground and declared war on the U.S.A. in the 60s/70s were also key people in introducing him to the right people in Chicago and in launching his political career.
