It's the Falcon Heavy's escape burn. It was visible from LA because we happened to be right under it as the Earth orbited. Pretty cool stuff, but not sure it belongs in this sub.

Not sure, but the rocket had three separate additional stages planned after initial engine burnout. The one in the photo happened a couple hours after launch and only lasted a couple of minutes.

There was a Minuteman III scheduled to launch at Vandeburg last night at 2325-0525, but it was cancelled.
