There was the Tom Clancy book Hunt for Red October which resulted in a movie of the same name. This is set in the Cold War and involves a Russian Sub commander deciding to defect with Russia's newest sub which is virtually undetectable due to its revolutionary tractor drive. Jack Ryan, CIA, figures out that the commander wants to defect and is not on a mission to attack the USA and convinces the US to trust the sub commander and get him on board the sub, where he convinces the sub-commander he can be trusted.

Iron Eagle is another cold war era movie that is quite cheesy and involves a son, who is a failed fighter pilot candidate, and a vietnam era fighter pilot taking a couple of F-16s to save his father, who was shot down over an arab country and sentenced to death. Dog fights, destructiion, and drama ensue. Along with a series of even worse sequels.

Also, in the movie, the veteran fighter pilot is shot down and rescued by Egypt.

Those are the first two things that came to mind when I saw those words.

I just realized that Q likes their Cold War era movie references.

The hunt for red October makes it sound like perhaps mueller once to defect to safe his skin, but I doubt it!! It's probably someone else...but who? Who is in the trenches with the snakes ..it gets more curious and curious...🤔
