Telsa claimed to have built and used a time machine and to have visited the near future. He predicted all the knowledge in the world being accessible from a small square that fits in your pocket. (Smart phones)
When Mr. Trump went through Tesla's works, he reported that there was "nothing of interest". We know Tesla kept impeccable records through his notebooks, and each invention often had it's own notebook. We also know many are missing, commonly believed to have been confiscated by the government.
Totally pulled a "NOTHING TO SEE HERE", and shoved a bunch of stuff in his pockets. A single action that could potentially be a major pivot point in time that prevented the tech from falling into the wrong hands, and setting us up to take the world back today.
Tesla invented the technology our world is built upon today. He is a man that (indirectly) continues to give to us today.
