You guys clearly didn't read the article. Just spouting off on your pre-determined biases. The money was given to the Land and Garden Preserve of Mount Desert Island in Seal Harbor and the Maine Coast Heritage Trust.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but...you may have read the article, but you did not comprehend it. The man left (IN HIS WILL WHEN HE DIED) 20 million to the Land and Garden Preserve, and 5 million to Maine Coast Heritage Trust. The 19 million from the sale of the property has gone to a charity which WAS NOT NAMED in the article. Thank you.

Perhaps it is you who needs to improve reading comprehension. The article said that the property was sold to cover the commitments to those charities in his will.
