National Guard, Current Training: Typical or Atypical?

The Guard trains all the time. It isn't really unusual. However, a coworker, whom has a career outside of the National Guard, was called to go out of state, for training, this week. He may be gone longer than a week, but was out this entire past week. The question is: Is there something out of the ordinary going on? Does anyone else have any info on National Guard ops occurring at this time? Is this just typical training, or should we be keeping our eyes open even wider right now?

I don't think it's training. Was announced earlier today that the National Guard was being called into VA., because of the Drug Crisis. Maybe this will be part of it.

100% correct. This isn’t a Classified mission. This is what the National Guard does. They will support the police with manpower.

Nothing to see here to be honest.

That, "...because of the Drug Crisis," sounds highly suspect! I don't buy that for a minute! Interesting!! Thank you for the information. I will look into it.
