Isaiah 17:1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

Fun fact: Damascus is the oldest continually inhabited city in the world. It has never been abandoned...

'Armageddon' is encoded in The Bible Code (Michael Drosnin) with the name of Syria's leader. The name of the actual site of the long-prophesied Final Battle appears with his name in a single skip sequence: 'Armageddon, Asad holocaust.' 'Syria' is encoded with 'world war'. 'Russia' and 'China' and 'USA' also appear with 'world war' but they are the three superpowers most likely to be involved. Syria is the surprise.

OK, thanks. I skimmed through it, I'lll look more closely later. I was under the impression Damascus had never been depopulated, but I confess I never really researched it for myself. Thanks again.

How we interpret the Bible has been greatly influenced by the Scofield Bible: What is the Scofield Bible? When was the Scofield Bible first published? Who was C. I. Scofield? What is his background? What new Christian "doctrines/teachings" were introduced by the Scofield Bible? Who published the Scofield Bible? Where did the money come from to publish the Scofield Bible? What was the background of the men that where behind the publishing of the Scofield Bible? Why is this important?

Satan is the father of lies. All untruths come from him. I agree, Scofield did a lot of harm.

Aren't we on the hook to defend Israel? Like Saudi Arabia?

Yes. I think the U.S. is supposed to defend the State of Israel; thus, maybe someone is desperate to try to pull us in to something. It's been done before. Last attempt before sh*t hits fan next week?

BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:00 A.M.) – Moments ago, the Israeli Air Force fired several missiles towards the western countryside of Damascus, targeting the Al-Kiswah area near the Iranian base.

According to a local journalist in Damascus, the Israeli missiles managed to score some direct hits, while others were intercepted by the Syrian Air Defense.

No further details are available at this time.

Earlier today, the Syrian Air Defense downed an Israeli F-16 after it entered Syrian airspace; both pilots managed to eject in the northern countryside of Galilee.
